2017 Team Report

Praise the Lord for the ways He worked!

Building more than pews and painting more than cement and boards;
building relationships as the Lord paints a majestic masterpiece using his amazing pallet
of colorful landscapes,words of encouragement, joy in laughter, smiles, and songs of praise.
Thank you Lord for allowing us to experience this together.

Thank You!

Thank you for your prayers, your donations of materials and funds, your care and your love for us! We rejoice!

East Association's First Trip

East Association's (EA) first mission journey, collectively, was a real blessing. The 22 team members from 5 different churches traveled to Las Coliñas, San Pedro de Macoris in the Dominican Republic. Representatives of United Baptist Church of Ellsworth, First Baptist Church of Bar Harbor, Calais Second Baptist Church, Swan's Island Baptist Church and a church on Great Cranberry Island made up this first team. It comes as no surprise that there were great joy in serving together and we look forward to many years partnering together in this way.

Partners in Ministry

Our team joined an ongoing mission that has been impacting the community for many years. Our prayer is that we could come alongside and minister together. We learned a lot about each other, and enjoyed developing our friendships with those who live in the Dominican. Pastor Tanis, Esther and their family were extremely welcoming and gracious to our team. We were well cared for; yummy foods, clean laundry, cleaned living space. Wow.

We are thankful for this opportunity to minister and to be ministered to. We look forward to many years serving the Lord together.

Gathering of believers

We had the privilege to participate in worship on numerous occasions. The body of believers gathers regularly. The singing was alive and beautiful, there was evidence of true life and the prayer was powerful. A number of our team had the opportunity to share God's Word at the services. It is a little challenging at first, but fun to have it translated into Creole or Spanish (depending on the service). We were able to have an extra Marriage Conference one evening which turned out to be a lot of fun as well having some serious discussions.

"It wasn't "my" missions trip. God called His people to fulfill His commission, by His provision and power, to accomplish purpose for His glory. I was simply blessed to go."
