The History of the East Area Churches Mission Development

Monthly a group of pastors of East Association churches has met to join in prayer and care for one another. Through our times together there has been a common desire to grow together, as we live out the covenant we have with one another. Through our time together came a vision of new ways that we could live out our covenant. One idea was to serve alongside one another in a common mission to the Dominican Republic where a number of our churches have been involved for years. Prayerfully this led a small group to traveled to the Dominican to explore what the Lord might have for us as we serve the Lord together. Without a doubt there were many needs and opportunities we saw first hand that inspired us to move forward.
This common mission was birthed from that time and the conversations that followed.
We pray you’ll consider joining us as we step forward in faith.

Ways each church can help in the Dominican
There are a variety of ways a church/individual can be supportive of the ministry in the Dominican Republic.
• Seek opportunities to regularly share this common Association mission.
• Encourage folks to get involved regurlary through going, giving and praying for the ministries we are a part of in the Dominican.
• Seek ways to assist churches in the Dominican; cover a pastors salary, pay for education and training, support the building of a church.
• As members of your church return with a love for those they've met be sure to keep them in prayer. There are many ways to impact the lives of those in the Dominican; education, building/funding schools, helping provide clean water, building/helping with clinics/hospitals and homes. May we be receptive to the Holy Spirit's leading with eyes to see needs and to act as He would have us respond.
